Product Spotlight- Kelty Junction 2.0 Carrier

Hiking with children can be so rewarding. It’s nice to vacate the suburbs and give the kids the opportunity to roam free in the woods, exploring each rock and insect. My older children can handle hours on a trail, but my one year old is just along for the ride. Fortunately, I stumbled upon a great find and hiking with the kids is easy.*

I bought the Kelty Junction 2.0 Child Carrier 9 years ago, when my oldest was 8 months old. I have used it for each child and the bag is still in like-new condition. The Kelty Carrier has a sturdy frame, ample storage, and padding on the straps that make it comfortable for me and my baby. A great feature is the supportive waist strap, which buckles in front, that distributes the weight of the child from the shoulders to the hips. There is also a clasp at the chest which makes the bag feel secure. Since my child is now 30 pounds, my shoulders and legs do start to fatigue during strenuous hikes, but I have found the Kelty Carrier to be absolutely vital for getting out into nature with my children. Happy hiking!

*as easy as hiking with 4 kids can be!

A recent hike up Mount Major in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Four challenging hours of vertical climbs, rocky trails and wild blueberries.
